if i would like to use a link to download some archive i have to be registered for a month? it is a very long time to be waiting. it is not very useful.

I can't understand for why I need this karma? what opportunity it will give? only to have buttons on each post for rate it and this is all? can somebody to explain me? what it will change if I will have this buttons without karma? or this is more for rank?
then why I limited to download attachments? it's so important for this limit? why?

Karma is for those who just signed up to participate in the forum so they not just download what they find interesting and then leave the forum and not just spam for example: Can someone give me karma, please! 
Karma is also used to show that you agree with or like what is written.

Question about karma (not trolling)just thinking about.....(not my personall case, opened the account in the forums months ago, and..didn't have enough time to post , working and studying)
Let's think about A,new guy in the forum, 0 post wants, 5 post and karma for download things, is late in time, no one in the forum, administrators are sleeping, and the guy think fast, open another account B
From B, post 5 links, so B now can add karma to another user, put +1 karma to A, log off
Log in as A, put another 5 links, so now, he have an account wiht minimum numbers of links and karma, imho..can be done in 5 min.
What method have the forum or sysadmins to avoid that?

but still, ip and mac log can be checked by hand, plus other info, like os, browser cookies, etc

Ok now i understand what karma is. So i have to wait a while to get some karma, but thats no problem for me. So i try in that time to learn more about virus and that things.

good that you made the karma system only possible for people register prior to a month, but i think you should also have some kind of notification when you recieve a positive or negative followed by who did it, and perhaps even comments on it, i noticed i got -'d twice for no apperent reason
people shouldn't be cowards and be able to anonymously criticize someone without standing up for themselves

It actually isn't that difficult.
You reply voluntarily to help others and if they find your reply useful, they thank you by giving you a Karma.
After using VXHeavens, I have found that people who ask for positive Karma(+1) (almost 95% of the time), end up with a Negative Karma(-1) instead.

Karma is a double weapon.
By one side it's good to avoid trolls, but by the other side it can be really annoying for new users who want to share material.
I suppose it's a personal decision taken by the administrators, maybe caused by past abuses.
