Is there a good text on the competing virus bulletin sites

Symantec, Kaspersky, Mcafee and so on all have a large news network for viruses. Is there a good way to sort out and make comparisons between their databases?

Is any of that available offline?

Any recommendations on looking through those sites? There are so many extensions to names, that it's a very difficult reference.
